TUM MILE DIL KHILE (TELUSA MANASA)
Hi, as I am on the website after a long time, many things have changed, seasons have passed and a lot of developments took place in my life.
Penning down your innermost thoughts and events from your personal life in your diary is still much more easier than this format where one has to articulate every raw emotion that they have, season it with ornamental language, arrange it in a logical manner and present it to the readers. It is a thoughtful and organic yet a very calculated and conscious process. In order to do justice to the same a quantum of the writer's time and energy is required. Although, the pleasure of creating a beautiful piece of content while combining my two most cherished passions that is music and literature is unparalleled.
And so, here I am back again with yet another song to dissect, analyze and share with you all. This time the song is Tum Mile Dil Khile or Telusa Manasa (as its Telugu version is known) from the 1994, Nagarjuna-Manisha Koirala starrer "Criminal". The Hindi version of the song is written and composed by Indeevar and M.M. Keeravani respectively.
The song comes in the movie at the point of the culmination of the protagonists' love story. The song is pivotal in a way because it depicts the couple's journey from their love affair to their marriage. As per any other so called "love song" of a Bollywood movie this one is reduced to the same level. But my ears and mind derive a lot more meaning from it and a profound statement or take on the concept of "love" other than just a hero and heroine dancing around in breathtaking sceneries.
More often than not I have caught myself wondering about "love", not any person or not the kind of love that is depicted in the movies or other media; but love as a feeling as an emotion of the utmost expression of affection. For me, love has always been this beautiful combination of care, respect and affection. Love has many forms and many manifestations. Humans tend to romanticize their lives all the time and hence the feeling of wanting to be loved and to love is common in all individuals. In my short life of 19 yrs if there is a realisation that has dawned upon me then it is the simple fact that, "all of us who inhabit this planet are wanting of love, acceptance and validation from all those around us". All of the human race's strife is for this one cause, this one want.
When I hear this song, there is only one person that comes to my mind or rather I would love to call Him every Indian's ideal man; a spiritual being who personifies the very emotion of love, our beloved "Krishna". A lover like Him is out-worldly and nearly impossible to find. That being said, we can still learn and imbibe certain elements that make this divine man so lovable and a standard of love throughout the universe.
a. Love is not just a feeling or an expression it is a way of life.
b. To love you don't need a person or an object of desire to be close to you; but just a loving and compassionate heart.
c. Do not confuse love with lust, attraction, passion or desire which after reaching a point of satiety very easily fades away.
d. Learn to love and accept yourself first.
e. Loving can become a habit if you carry warmth and appreciation for all of the creation around you.
f. Love is so powerful and all encompassing that it can thwart away all negativity out of your life.
g. To love means a conscious effort to surrender yourself everyday to the object of your desire.
h. Adding love to every task you do will result in the benefits that you reap, growing tenfold.
i. Lastly, the more you love people, universe and all of that exists in this world the more you shall receive love from various sources whenever you feel short of it, so much so that you will be in awe of the universe's master plan!
With that thought I would love to conclude this blog. Keep loving and see world transform into a much better place. It is the age where mankind needs to keep their minds hard and hearts soft; only then peaceful co-existence shall be easily achievable.
